Release to Service, the EASA Way
Returning an aircraft to service is a two-stage sign-off, not a status toggle. Sign the Maintenance Form Certificate to authorise the maintenance check flight, then issue the Certificate of Release to Service once the check flight is complete. Each stage produces its own signed PDF, and logbook entries stay pending until the final release is signed.
Your Part-145 approval reference and CAMO reference print on every CRS — snapshotted at release so the certificate never drifts from what was true when it was signed — and you can override the maintenance location per work order for cross-organisation work. Record airworthiness limitations and derogations directly on the certificate, exactly as EASA M.A.801(e)(4) requires, and let the CRS carry a snapshot of the next scheduled maintenance so the pilot sees when the aircraft is next due.
Signed certificates are locked into the audit trail and cannot be deleted; corrections are made through a formal Amendment CRS, never by overwriting the original.

An EASA release is only as good as the paperwork behind each part.
