Air Charter Safety Symposium

The annual safety symposium of the Air Charter Safety Foundation. Three days bringing US Part 135 charter operators, FAA representatives, and aviation safety leadership together around SMS implementation, IS-BAO/IS-BAH frameworks, and operational safety priorities.

April 7–9, 2026Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, United States~350 attendees

What to expect

ACSS focuses tightly on the operational safety side of Part 135 charter and Part 91 high-end operations. Expect FAA leadership presenting on regulatory direction, ACSF leadership on industry safety initiatives, IS-BAO/IS-BAH auditor and registrant content, peer exchange between operators on SMS implementation, ASAP and FOQA program operations, and emerging topics in fatigue management, mental health, and just culture. The agenda is decidedly practitioner-level rather than academic — sessions are run by current and former chief pilots, directors of safety, and ACSF auditors. The 2026 Symposium ran April 7–9 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach in a scenario-based immersive learning format built around a day in the life of an operator.

Who attends

Part 135 charter operator leadership, directors of safety from US AOC operators, IS-BAO/IS-BAH auditors and registrants, FAA leadership, ACSF staff, ASAP and FOQA program managers, and a substantial visiting contingent from Part 91 high-end operators and Part 141 schools running operator dimensions.

Why flight schools attend

Flight schools running combined ATO/AOC operations, charter alongside training, or building rigorous SMS programs find ACSS uniquely valuable for the safety-program depth. Schools pursuing IS-BAO certification also use ACSS for the registrant and auditor content. Pure Part 141 training operations without operator dimensions get less from ACSS than from FSANA.

Frequently Asked Questions

ACSF (Air Charter Safety Foundation) is a non-profit organization advancing the safety of US Part 135 charter operations through industry-led safety standards, accreditation programs, ASAP-style safety reporting infrastructure, and the annual Symposium.

Mainly for schools running combined ATO/AOC, charter alongside training, or building rigorous SMS programs. Schools pursuing IS-BAO certification benefit from the registrant and auditor content. Pure Part 141 operations without operator dimensions typically prioritize FSANA Conference over ACSS.

The ACSF Safety Symposium runs annually in the spring. The 2026 Symposium ran April 7–9, 2026 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the 2027 edition returns there April 6–8, 2027. Dates and registration open via acsf.aero.
