Aviatize — Flight School Management Software
A message to the MyFBO community

A new home forMyFBO customers

We're sorry to hear MyFBO is shutting down in August 2026. For more than 25 years it has been a quiet workhorse of general aviation — and the team behind it deserves real respect for what they built. Before you decide where to go next, secure your data. Then let Aviatize give the MyFBO community a modern, complete, and stable home for the next 25 years.

Mention MyFBO on your demo and ask about transitioning incentives.

Do this first — before you choose anything

Back up your MyFBO data before August

MyFBO shuts down in August 2026. Whatever platform you move to, the single most important step right now is securing your own operational history while your account is still live. MyFBO can export a full database backup — a .bak file — and that file belongs in your hands today, not on a server that goes dark in a few months.

Step 1

Log in and run the database download

While your MyFBO account is still active, open the built-in database download. It generates a full backup of your operation as a .bak file.

Step 2

Save the .bak file somewhere safe

That single file is your operational history — fleet, members, students, instructors, training progress, account balances, and bookings. Keep a copy you control.

Step 3

Hand it to us for migration

If you move to Aviatize, we read your .bak file directly to plan the migration and map each record into Aviatize — so the history you built over the years carries across.

Not switching to Aviatize? Download the backup anyway. A copy of your records is yours to keep no matter where you land.

25+ years of serving aviation deserves a thank-you

MyFBO has been part of the general aviation community since 1998. Long before "SaaS" was a category, MyFBO was helping FBOs sell that next marginal hour online, helping flight schools schedule aircraft, and helping flying clubs run their memberships. That's a legacy worth honoring.

We learned MyFBO is closing the way most flight school software founders learn important news — from a customer. A school reached out asking what their options were, and that's how this page came to exist. MyFBO is shutting down in August 2026, which gives every operator a real but limited window to back up their data and move to a replacement. If you have a more specific timeline for your account, tell us so we can plan a migration that works for you.

Wherever you land — whether that's Aviatize or somewhere else — we hope you find a new home that respects the operation you've built. We'd love it to be with us.

Everything you relied on in MyFBO — and what comes next

Aviatize is a single connected platform for flight schools, flying clubs, and FBOs. The capabilities MyFBO pioneered are here, modernized — plus the things modern operators expect today.

Online scheduling, the way MyFBO pioneered it

Real-time aircraft and instructor availability, student self-booking from the web or native mobile apps, drag-and-drop dispatch, and automated conflict detection. Everything MyFBO did online, brought into a modern interface.

Training records, syllabi, and student progress

Track every lesson, every endorsement, every check ride. Digital training jacket per student, syllabus templates for Part 61, Part 141, EASA ATO, and custom programs. No more paper folders or duplicate spreadsheets.

Connected billing and accounting

Flights close into itemized invoices automatically. Hobbs and tach time captured at check-out. QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, and Exact Online integrations — no exports, no manual reconciliation, no duplicate data entry.

Maintenance-aware operations

Track airframe, engine, and component intervals. Aircraft approaching service are flagged. Grounded aircraft are automatically locked out of scheduling. AD/SB tracking and squawk handling built in.

Real-time compliance validation

Aviatize checks documents, currencies, balances, and contract eligibility before a booking is even confirmed. EASA, FAA, Transport Canada, CASA, and authority-specific rule sets supported out of the box.

Native mobile apps for students and instructors

iOS and Android apps for booking, check-in, digital signatures, lesson briefings, and payment. The mobile experience MyFBO never quite had — built for how flight schools actually run today.

25 years on MyFBO. The next 25 on Aviatize.

The reason MyFBO lasted so long is that it stayed close to the realities of how FBOs, flight schools, and clubs actually operate. Aviatize is built the same way: by people who know aviation, with a product team that ships every week, and a platform designed to evolve as the industry does. Wherever general aviation goes next — unleaded fuel, digital examiners, AI-assisted training, regulator-mandated audit trails — your software should keep up. Aviatize is built to.

MyFBO migration questions

Honest answers about the closure, the migration, and what life on Aviatize looks like.

Is MyFBO really shutting down, and when?+

Yes. MyFBO is shutting down in August 2026 after more than 25 years serving general aviation. That leaves a short window to protect your operational history and move to a replacement platform. The first thing every MyFBO customer should do — before choosing any new system — is download a backup of their MyFBO database while the account is still active.

How do I back up my MyFBO data before it shuts down?+

Log into MyFBO and use the built-in database download to generate and save a backup file (a .bak file). Keep it somewhere safe — it is your historical record of fleet, members, students, instructors, training progress, account balances, and bookings. Do this now, while your account is active; once MyFBO goes offline in August 2026 the export is no longer available. If you move to Aviatize, we use that .bak file directly for migration planning so your history carries across.

What is the best alternative to MyFBO?+

Aviatize is a modern, all-in-one alternative to MyFBO built specifically for flight schools, flying clubs, FBOs, and aviation training organizations. It covers everything MyFBO covered — online scheduling, aircraft and instructor booking, student records, training progress, dispatch, invoicing, and reporting — and adds connected billing and accounting, native iOS and Android apps, real-time compliance validation, and integrations with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and Exact Online.

Will Aviatize help us migrate from MyFBO?+

Yes. Every MyFBO account owner — flight school, flying club, or FBO — that joins Aviatize gets free onboarding, with no deadline or window to beat. We use your downloaded MyFBO database backup (.bak file) for migration planning, then handle guided data migration, fleet and user setup, training for your team, and a dedicated migration contact. Book a demo and ask about MyFBO transitioning incentives.

How long has MyFBO been around?+

MyFBO began development in 1998 / 1999 and has served the general aviation community for more than 25 years from its base in Doral, Florida. It has been a meaningful part of how thousands of FBOs, flight schools, flying clubs, charter operators, and fractional operators ran their businesses online.

How is Aviatize different from MyFBO?+

Aviatize is a single connected platform: scheduling, training management, dispatch, billing, accounting, maintenance, and compliance all share the same data in real time. There are no per-user fees, native mobile apps for students and instructors are included, and the platform is updated continuously by a dedicated product team. Pricing starts at $29 per aircraft per month with unlimited users.

Can we keep our MyFBO history when we migrate?+

We help you bring across the records that matter — fleet, members and students, instructors, training progress, contract balances, and historical bookings where the source data allows. During your free migration onboarding we review your MyFBO exports together and map each field into Aviatize so nothing important is lost.

How fast can we be up and running on Aviatize after MyFBO?+

Most flight schools and clubs complete the core setup — fleet, users, scheduling, billing, and accounting integration — within a few weeks. The Aviatize trial account is live in minutes, so you can start exploring today and run Aviatize in parallel with MyFBO until you are ready to fully cut over.

Is Aviatize a good fit for FBOs and flying clubs, not just flight schools?+

Yes. Like MyFBO, Aviatize serves the full general aviation operator community: flight schools, ATOs, flying clubs, FBOs, rental operators, and aircraft owners. Modules can be turned on or off per business model.
