Mondial de l'ULM

The Mondial de l'ULM is the world's largest ultralight aviation gathering at Blois-Le Breuil airfield, organised by FFPLUM. The 2026 edition is not running — the next confirmed Mondial de l'ULM edition will be in 2027 (dates TBC by FFPLUM).

What to expect

The Mondial de l'ULM is the global ULM (Ultralight Motorisé / microlight) industry's annual centre of gravity. Three days at Aérodrome de Blois-Le Breuil bring together every major European ULM manufacturer (Tecnam, Aeroprakt, Pipistrel, Magni Gyro, ICP, BlackShape, JMB, Comco Ikarus), avionics and equipment vendors, French and European ULM schools, type-club gatherings, and tens of thousands of ULM pilots. Daily flight demonstrations on the airfield run alongside the indoor exhibits. Organised by FFPLUM (Fédération Française des ULM), the Mondial draws international attendance well beyond France — German, Belgian, Italian, Czech, and Eastern European ULM communities all converge on Blois. For flight schools running ULM training, this is the single most concentrated annual recruiting and supplier-relationship venue in Europe.

Who attends

ULM aircraft manufacturers, French and European ULM schools, FFPLUM and DGAC representatives, type clubs (autogyre/gyrocopter, weight-shift, three-axis, multi-axis), avionics and equipment vendors, French aero clubs running ULM activity, individual pilots from across Europe, and a substantial international visiting contingent.

Why flight schools attend

Aviatize has attended the Mondial de l'ULM for several years running — the event is the central European ULM venue and the place where French and Benelux ULM schools concentrate. Flight schools running ULM training programs find more potential students, more supplier relationships, and more peer-school exchange in three days at Blois than in months of local activity. Schools considering adding ULM activity alongside Part-FCL also use the Mondial to evaluate aircraft, instructor frameworks, and FFPLUM membership.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mondial de l'ULM is centred on ULM but draws broader GA attendance — many three-axis pilots, prospective students, and aero club members visit even if they fly Part-FCL aircraft. Flight schools running both Part-FCL and ULM activity find Blois useful for both audiences.

The Mondial de l'ULM runs annually in late August or early September at Aérodrome de Blois-Le Breuil (LFOQ) in the Loire Valley. Dates and admission information are published via mondial-ulm.fr typically four to six months before the event.

Yes — Blois-Le Breuil is open to fly-in attendance during the Mondial with specific arrival and parking procedures published by FFPLUM each year. Many attendees fly in for the day or the weekend; on-airfield camping is also organised.

Yes. Aviatize attends the Mondial each year and the 2026 edition is no exception. Stop by our booth to talk through how Aviatize handles ULM operations alongside Part-FCL training in a single tenant — including FFPLUM-aligned licensing frameworks, member-based aero club billing, and shared-airfield coordination.
